lent-inspired activities
Self- Reflection Journal Using our class rules as a guide, each day we pick one rule to focus on for the day. At the end of the day, we quickly reflect on how we think we did in our journal. We are not expected to be perfect, but we can always keep working on being better each day! Ask your child which ones he/she has been working on! | OUR RULES 1. Listen and Obey the First Time 2. Love God and Love Each Other 3. Be Honest and Loyal 4. Use Kind Words in a Kind Voice Daily Lent Challenge Each day we are given a challenge that involves giving, fasting, or praying in developmentally appropriate ways. For example, one day we were challenged to play something our friend wanted to play, rather than we wanted to play. This was a fasting challenge! |
We meet with our 4th grade buddy each week! It is fun as we work on a year-long book and other activities as the year goes on. Sometimes we read together, write together, play games together, and learn about God. Ask your child about his/her favorite thing to do with our buddies!
Pizza Box Writing This semester, we began a weekly creative writing activity! Each student is currently writing several books. The pizza box is where we keep all of the books we are working on! This is a very open-ended activity that allows the children to write about any topic of their choosing. Through the experience, we are learning all the steps in the writing process! |
